BSE (Breast Self-Exams)

Women! Doctors are often not the first one to detect breast cancer.

If you have been doing regular Breast Self-Exams chances are you’ll be the first to spot any unusual changes.

Research show tumors found by women practicing BSE are half the size of those discovered by doctors in non-BSE practicing women.

Needless to say, the earlier the cancer tumor is discovered, the greater the chance of its cure.

FACTS ON CHRISTOPHER COLUMBOS

Christopher Columbus was christened Cristofro Colombo and that he was not the first to discover The Americas? Also that Columbus's arrival marked the beginning of one of the cruelest episodes in Human history. That under Columbus and other Spanish adventures, as well as later European colonizers, an era of genocide was opened that ravaged the native American population through warfare, forced labor, draconian punishments and European disease to which the Indians had no natural immunities.

SAVE BY THE BELL

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a "bone-house" and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they thought they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the "graveyard shift") to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be "saved by the bell", or maybe considered a "dead ringer."

WAKE

Lead cups were used to drinking whisky. That combination would sometimes knock them out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a "wake".

DIVIDING BREAD ACCORDING TO STATUS

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or "upper crust."

TOMATOES

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning and death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

BRING HOME THE BACON

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man "could bring home the bacon." They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and "chew the fat."

PEAS PORRIDGE IN THE POT

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes the stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence, the rhyme "Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old".

THRESH HOLD

The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on the floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they kept adding more thresh until when you opened the door it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entranceway. Hence the saying, a "thresh hold."

DIRT POOR

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence, the saying, "dirt poor".

HOW CANOPY BEDS CAME INTO EXISTENCE

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could really mess up your nice clean bed. Hence a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

IT’S RAINING CATS AND DOGS

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the dogs, cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying, "It's raining cats and dogs."

BATHING

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children-last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the old saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water."

JUNE BRIDE

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odor. Hence, the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

RAIN

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in WalMart. She must have been 6 years old and the image of innocence. It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout. We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the WalMart.

We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day. I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

The little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in "Mom, let's run through the rain," she said.

"What?" Mom asked.

"Let 's run through the rain!" She repeated.

"No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit," Mom replied.

This young child waited about another minute and repeated: "Mom, let's run through the rain,"

"We'll get soaked if we do," Mom said.

"No, we won't, Mom. That's not what you said this morning," the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.

"This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?"

"Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through this, he can get us through anything!"

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few minutes.

Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

"Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If GOD let's us get wet, well, maybe we just needed washing," Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads just in case. They got soaked.

But they were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars.

And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories...So, don't forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.

A friend sent this to me to remind me of life. Hope you enjoy it. I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

Send this to the people you'll never forget, to those you've never met, and remember to also send it to the person who sent it to you. It's a short message to let them know that you'll never forget them.

If you don't send it to anyone, it means you're in a hurry. Take the time to live!!!

Keep in touch with your friends, you never know when you'll need each other -- and don't forget to run in the rain!

God makes everything but unbreakable hearts.

AMAZING ALOE CURE (Aloe vera)

Aloe has the unique ability to help skin renew itself by stimulating cellular metabolism, thereby promoting oxygen exchange and increasing the absorption of nutrients. Aloe contains the anti-oxidant vitamins A and C; the minerals copper, selenium, and magnesium; and zinc, a powerful virus fighter.

This method is best used for more localized sunburns. Rather than cutting from the tip or half way down the stalk, cut it at its base.
Slit the stalk horizontally, exposing the gelatinous interior. Using the thickest, juiciest section for the burn, cut a piece large enough to completely cover the burn and its surrounding tissue. Place the entire piece on the area (gel and peel, gel side toward the burn).

Cover the aloe with roller gauze and surgical tape to keep it firmly in place. Leave on overnight or, if burn occurred early in the day, cut a fresh piece of aloe to make a new dressing and leave on overnight.
The remaining stalk of aloe may be wrapped in plastic wrap and refrigerated over night.
In the morning, cut a new piece of the refrigerated aloe to make a fresh dressing. Repeat applications twice a day until area is healed.

BAKING SODA SUNBURN SOOTHER

No apple cider vinegar or plain yogurt in the house? Then check the deepest recess of your refrigerator for that box of baking soda you stashed there eons ago (hopefully, not too many eons--to effectively deodorize your fridge, baking soda should be changed about every 3 months). Like apple cider vinegar and yogurt, baking soda helps to balance pH, the skin’s acid/alkaline balance.

Add ¼ cup baking soda to a warm bath for an effective sunburn-healing soak. Soak for 15 minutes.

YOGURT SKIN HEALER

Yogurt is a natural healer. It is the antidote for the burn of hot, spicy food in Indian cooking by re-establishing acid/alkaline balance and works the same way for sunburned skin.

For sunburn, I use compresses of natural yogurt to help cool and hydrate the skin. You wrap whole-milk, full-fat, plain yogurt in several layers of cheesecloth and compress the burn. Replace with fresh compresses as the yogurt warms on the skin Repeat compresses until the skin is cooled and soothed. Yogurt can be spread over the entire body—turning, up-setting, painful sunburn into a fun spa treatment that girls, especially, will love. Leave the yogurt on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse off in a cool shower.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR BATH

This is for large sun-burned areas. An apple cider vinegar bath works wonders. Use a brand from the health food store that has been wood-aged, rather than one from the supermarket that may have been chemically-aged. Apple cider vinegar helps to balance the skin’s pH factor, its acid/alkaline balance. As with all parts of the body, when there is chemical balance, healing is supported.

Add two cups apple cider vinegar to a bathtub of warm water. Let your child soak for 15 minutes. The skin will be calmed and soothed, and much of the pain will be immediately relieved. After the bath, you can use one of the remedies described below to promote further healing.

HEALING SOLUTIONS FOR BURNS AND SUNBURNS

SUNBURNS
White sand and blue beach, nothing can beat a summer escapade under the sun. However, it’s not all too good to be under the heat for quite sometime. As we all know, the sun emits Ultraviolet (UV) rays which can cause a skin condition called sunburns.

All, including dark skinned persons, are susceptible to sunburns. Sunburns appear to be red and swelling. Painful blisters may develop upon over exposure to UV rays. This usually happens if sun exposure lasted from 6 to 48 hours. After several days, your skin may begin to peel.

COMMON CAUSES
Ultraviolet rays are the main cause for sunburns. When the skin’s protective component, melanin, cannot anymore accommodate the amount of light exposure, sunburn then results. Light-skinned persons are more vulnerable, for they can obtain sunburns in just 15 minutes in midday sun while dark-skinned people can endure longer hours of exposure.

Medical science has now accepted that sunburns are no minor health issues. There have been reports of fatalities and significant disabilities due to acute sun exposure.

SYMPTOMS
Sunburns usually manifest within hours after prolonged sun exposure. Sunburn victims will start to feel pain in the skin and later on, redness may show on the affected skin. Swelling on the skin is common as well as peeling within three to eight days after exposure.

LONG TERM COMPLICATIONS
Although it may rarely happen, severe blisters of sunburns may complicate into malignant melanoma. Premature aging may also result as the sun can deteriorate the elasticity of the skin. Another possible ailment is Solar Keratoses, which manifests reddish patches that are sometimes precancerous.

The most serious known complication that can result from sunburns is skin cancer. Factors like skin pigmentation and longevity of sun exposure are to be considered in diagnosing skin cancer.

Lastly, UV rays and sun exposure can also produce cataracts in certain individuals.

TREATMENT
Cold compresses will always be good for burns. Apply them for the first 48 hours of your sunburn. Vinegar, aloe, baking soda, and cool oatmeal baths can also be effective home treatments to ease the discomfort.

Avoid applying petroleum jelly or lotions which can hold the heat intact the burned skin. However, moisturizing lotions can be relieving. To alleviate the pain and swelling, patients may be asked to take aspirin.
For unusual symptoms like fluid-filled blisters, fever, or dizziness, contact your nearest doctor for immediate medical assistance.

PREVENTION
Prevention is way better than treating sunburns. Sunscreens with different SPF levels are very effective to prevent UV exposures under the sun. Doctors often recommend sunscreens with 30 or higher SPF levels. For swimmers, look for water proof sunscreens to suit their sporting activities.

There is however time distinctions for the day in which people may know when to have a healthy sunlight exposure and when not. As much as possible avoid sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Keep away reflectors, tanning beds, or sunlamps. These equipments generate high levels of UV emission.

For individuals who taking medication, they must pay attention to the effects and their respective side effects. Some types of medicines may cause bad effects on sunburns.

Breakfast at McDonald's

This is a good story and is true, please read it all the way through until the end! (After the story, there are some very interesting facts!):

I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my college degree.

The last class I had to take was Sociology.

The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with.

Her last project of the term was called "Smile."

The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions.

I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway, so, I thought this would be a piece of cake, literally.

Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning.

It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son.

We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then even my husband did.

I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved.

As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men.

As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was "smiling".

His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance.

He said, "Good day" as he counted the few coins he had been clutching.

The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.

I held my tears as I stood there with them.

The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted.

He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they could afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up, they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm).

Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes.

That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set on me, judging my every action.

I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray.

I then walked around the corner to the table that the men had chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand.

He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Thank you."

I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not do this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope."

I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son. When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said, "That is why God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope."

We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to give.

We are not church goers, but we are believers.

That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love.

I returned to college, on the last evening of class, with this story in hand.

I turned in "my project" and the instructor read it.

Then she looked up at me and said, "Can I share this?"

I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class.

She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and to be healed.

In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my husband, son, instructor, and every soul that shared the classroom on the last night I spent as a college student.

I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn: UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.

Much love and compassion is sent to each and every person who may read this and learn how to

LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS - NOT LOVE THINGS AND USE PEOPLE.

If you think this story has touched you in any way, please share this to everyone you know.

There is an Angel sent to watch over you.

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

To handle yourself, use your head.

To handle others, use your heart.

God Gives every bird it's food, but He does not throw it into its nest.

Keep this going

SPECIAL GROCERY LIST

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.

She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can."

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?"

Louise replied, "Yes sir." "O.K" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

"Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said; "It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs."

THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer.. That's all you have to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune.
Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families' life .

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do. Amen & Amen

Foreign tourists spend $1 billion in early 2008

by Sammy Martin and Jayson Cruz Luna

THE Department of Tourism claimed that the domestic tourism industry generated some $1 billion during the first quarter of 2008.

Foreign tourist arrivals in the first quarter of the year rose marginally from a year earlier, still led by visitors from South Korea.

The Tourism department, which sourced its data from arrival and departure cards and shipping manifests, counted 858,244 arrivals from January 2008 to March 2008, which is 8.5-percent higher compared to the 790,888 tourist arrivals recorded during the same period last year.

The tourists spent a total of $1.022 billion during the period, the department said.

"Tourist spending amounted to $1.02 billion, with Korea accounting for the biggest bulk. The Scandinavian region, as well as Germany, Russia, Canada and Hong Kong, registered double-digit gains as shown by their increasing expenditure and length of stay over the previous years," the statement added.

Koreans topped the arrivals, with 175,147 of them arriving during the first quarter of the year, accounting for 20.4 percent of the total tourist arrivals.

The next biggest group of tourists came from the United States, with the 166,128, making up 19.4 percent; followed by tourists from Japan at 99,453 or 11.6 percent.

Fourth to sixth were mainland China with 48,619 (5.7percent) ; followed by Taiwan with 31,441 (3.7 percent); and Hong Kong, 31,344 (3.7 percent). If lumped together, the Chinese group totals 111,404 (13.1 percent), bigger than the Japanese group.

At the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Tourism Secretary Ace Durano led at least a hundred employers from tourism-related businesses offering thousands of jobs during the "Trabaho sa Turismo" exposition of the agency, which started Wednesday.

The two-day event, running on its third year, aims to generate more direct hiring jobs in Metro Manila and Luzon in the field of tourism.

Durano said that from 2004 to 2007, the tourism department generated 3.78 million direct employment jobs as influx of foreign visitors rose from 2.29 million in 2004 to 3.09 million last year, resulting in $4.89 billion in foreign exchange inflows in 2007 alone.

The Tourism department is targeting at least 3.5 million arrivals this year and five million by 2010, which will require the upgrading of tourism facilities all over the country.

DOT launches tourism drive in Korea

The Department of Tourism (DoT) is putting up a strong pitch in the Korean market where it launched for the first time in the international market the agency's "Live Your Dream" campaign.

The "Live Your Dream" campaign was recently launched by the DoT through its marketing arm, the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corporation (PCVC). The campaign aims to actively promote the Philippines not just as a transitory destination for sightseeing and recreation, but also as an ideal property investment.

"The campaign was conceptualized to highlight the many advantages of the country not just as a tourist destination, but also as an ideal second home for foreigners," Tourism Secretary Ace Durano said.

Durano stressed that driving investment in second homes in the Philippines is one way by which the department can successfully promote the country's destinations and consequently boost tourism activities in the country.

"Korea is just the perfect market to start the campaign. After all, Korea is among the list of most frequent visitors to the Philippines, " Durano pointed out.

It was the maiden participation of the DoT in the International Property and Investment Show (IPIS 2008) held at the Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul, South Korea. The DoT had the largest pavilion in the exhibition measuring 108 sq.m. – not to mention the most colorful and artistically designed one.

The pavilion sported the unique artistic design that ad agency BBDO Guerrero rendered for the Live Your Dream campaign. To allow the campaign's creative design to stand out amongst the clutter of tourism ads of other countries, three contemporary artists were tapped by the agency to illustrate the idea in dream-like fashion and capture elements that make the Philippines beautiful and distinct to foreigners.

For his part, Tourism Undersecretary for Planning and Promotions Eduardo Jarque Jr. said that, "The Live Your Dream campaign tells foreign property investors not just to dream about a superb second home, but to make it come true by investing in the Philippines. The country's tropical island and clear blue waters, convenient location, growing economy, and thriving urban lifestyle can make their dreams real for them."

Jarque said that after DOT's successful participation in the IPIS 2008, the Live Your Dream campaign theme shall also be used in future international exhibitions that the department will be joining next.

Notably, key players in the country's real estate & property industry joined the DOT pavilion in the Korean property fair. These include DMCI Homes, Federaland Inc., Fil-Estate Urban Dev't Corp., Megaworld Corporation, Phil. BXT Corporation, Robinson's Land Corporation, and State Properties Corporation. The Philippine Retirement Authority was also represented.

DOT's Team Head for Korea, Pam Samaniego, who is in charge of tourism promotions in this market, said that "Local property developers now look to tourists and expatriates as key growth drivers of sales, most especially the Korean market which has always expressed keen interest in the Philippines.

Samaniego said that in the first IPIS held last year also in Seoul, the Philippines ranked second, next to the US, as the most inquired nation among the exhibition's thousands of visitors comprised of serious property investors and/or home buyers mainly from Korea.

JUST OPENED: FERNANDO AMORSOLO RETROSPECTIVE PART OF MY NATIONAL MUSEUM TOUR

The Museum of the Filipino People opened last Sept 25, 2008 a major Fernando Amorsolo retrospective highlighting his portrait work and drawings most of which are exhibited for the first time.

Fernando Amorsolo, our first National Artist Awardee, is recognized as the painter who captured the “Philippine Light.” Filipinos roundly agree that his sunsets and sunrises and typical countryside scenes capture the true colors and ambiance of local surroundings.
But a another avenue of Amorsolo’s creative expression is in his portraits of important people in our country. From early American Commissioners to Philippine presidents and to the local elite, Amorsolo faithfully captured his clients’ bearing and charm. He was the country’s favored portrait artists and some of his best works can now be appreciated during this retrospective.

Along with the portraits are Amorsolo’s sketches and drawings and Museum Curator Patrick Flores managed to match some of the drawings to the finished paintings giving visitors a sense of the artist’s creative process.

In addition, paintings by the country’s masters like Juan Luna, and the Spanish painter Joaquin Sorolla hang to show their influence on Amorosolo’s works. Works by other renowned artists like Victorio Edades shows either being influenced by Amorsolo or departing from his classical painting tradition.
The incisive wall texts and the spacious gallery make for an enlightening visit and delightful visit to the National Museum.
John L. Silva, Senior Consultant of the National Museum now highlights the Amorsolo Retrospective in his three-hour, 20 gallery tour of the National Museum. The other highlights of the Museum’s collection, extensively explained during the tour are the Spoliarium by Juan Luna, the Assassination of Governor Bustamante by Felix Resurreccion, the Manungggul Jar, the anthropomorphic burial jars from the Maitum Caves in Saranggani, and the San Diego Galleon treasures.

Not to be missed, come take my tour soon and be pleasantly surprised with a museum considered majestic and an equal to any museums abroad. Next tour dates are November 19, 22, 23, and 26, and December 3, 6, 10, 13, 17, and 20, 2008. Adults are 700 pesos and children 500 pesos. Trump Organization executive vice-president Michael Cohen said he had met officials of the Heung-A Property Group to discuss the plan.

He said the two sides were working on “a definitive agreement” where the Trump group would be a key developer of the beachfront but added that no formal accord had been signed.

Heung-A Property owns Subic Neocove Corp., a venture that is developing a tourism complex. The company is planning an initial 250 million-dollar inveMstment to build hotels, golf courses, a casino and residential areas.
